Community Staff Engagement Assistant Details

SUMMARY:

The DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB), a public corporation created by the State of Georgia to serve persons with behavioral health disorders, developmental disabilities and substance use disorders, seeks an experienced professional to serve as Communications Coordinator. The agency has an annual operating budget of approximately $30 million and employs approximately 500 staff. Programs are operated in over 25 locations throughout DeKalb County, Georgia. The Community Relations Coordinator will:


Major Duties:

Marketing and Communications:

  • Assist the Development Manager in collecting and narrating stories from staff, community partners, clients and other stakeholders for distribution on all communication channels to promote awareness and support for DeKalb CSB.
  • Create and disseminate information about the DeKalb CSB through digital means.
  • Perform occasional website maintenance.
  • Edit videos to place on all communication channels.
  • Implement social media strategy for the organization.
  • Monitor website analytics and manage search engine optimization.

Human Resources:

  • Assist with creating and implementing Employee Engagements strategies to positively impact the organizational Climate/Cultural.
  • Assist with the administration of and promote Employee Incentive Programs (i.e. Service Awards, Excellence Awards)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Development:

  • Assist the Development Manager with coordination of partner, volunteer, and donor cultivation efforts and event planning.
  • Develop copy for direct mail marketing and donor cultivation.

Public Relations:

  • Develop press releases and distribute through the appropriate channels.

Minimum Requirements: At a minimum, interested applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or public relations and have a minimum of 3-5 years progressive experience, with a comparable non-for-profit organization in the Human Resources, Marketing and/ or Development Department. The strong candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, have an enthusiastic demeanor and a passion for storytelling. They must be a strategic and creative thinker with ability to translate strategies into actions; possess excellent problem-solving skills, drive results with a heightened sense of urgency, and be a team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrix environment. They must be able to juggle multiple priorities, possess superior oral and written communication skills, excellent analytical skills and synthesizing skills, strong influencing and presentation skills, and project management skills.


In addition to meeting the above qualifications, the ideal applicant will be proficient in the use of various desktop publishing, multi-media, web-based software applications including Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, customer relationship management software, and MS Office Suite.
