Community Partnership Manager Details

Shared Value Media - Los Angeles, CA

Employment Type : Full-Time

Shared Value Media (SVM) is a communications firm specializing in coalition-led outreach for socially impactful programs and community-led projects. From NY to CA, we work hand-in-hand with trusted organizations to move beyond impressions and drive measurable change. You will be joining a team of community organizers, nonprofit innovators, and politicos, working in and with communities to help create a more just, equitable world. The Partnership Manager will be supporting a California-wide community outreach initiative focused on labor rights and COVID-19 workplace safety, as well as vaccine education.

As part of this initiative, SVM is coordinating a network of hundreds of community-based organizations (CBOs) that are collaborating to spread awareness about California health and safety precautions and workers’ rights around sick leave. This position will be responsible for leading one or more regional coalitions of CBO partners. This includes supporting coalition coordination, providing strategic insight, and managing towards quantifiable goals, all while fostering strong, collaborative relationships.

As a Partnership Manager, a typical day might include:

  • Lead a weekly call with a CBO partner to provide data-informed strategic insight, learn about work completed on-the-ground, and brainstorm solutions to challenges faced in their community outreach
  • Build out a work plan and timeline for the execution of a project that solves for an outreach gap raised by a CBO partner
  • Analyze submitted activity data to better understand what is working in your region and generating the greatest impact
  • Lead a capacity-building training session for your CBO partners on a marketing tactic used by the campaign (i.e. train on best practices for social media platforms or walk a partner through how to launch a mass text campaign)
  • Facilitate statewide or coalition-wide meetings where campaign updates or changes in strategy / resources / on-the-ground conditions are provided
  • Take on a workflow challenge within the campaign and provide a recommendation to improve collaboration
  • Participate on internal SVM calls where we work through challenges and brainstorm innovative solutions
  • Work from your couch… as we’ll probably continue to be remote for awhile

This job is probably a good fit, if you can check off a majority of the following:

  • You have 7+ years of relevant work experience and 2+ years managing a team
  • You have worked in or with CBOs and/or city/state government
  • You have experience being client-facing and running multi-platform outreach campaigns
  • You have excellent organizational and prioritization skills and can track multiple project deliverables on condensed timelines
  • You have strong presentation skills and are comfortable explaining insights and demonstrating new skills / technology tools to varied audiences
  • You have a knack for managing and interpreting large data sets and are proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
  • You are comfortable diagnosing needs/challenges and carrying out a work plan to solve for them
  • You are a team player but also competitive (in a good way)
  • You take pride in your work, have a strong sense of accountability, and strive for outcomes (not just outputs or impressions)
  • You are passionate about making a positive impact in the world
  • You share SVM’s belief that local communications delivered by trusted community leaders, is the most effective way to inspire behavior change

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with earned media
  • Familiarity with media planning/buying
  • Experience running paid social media campaigns
