Position Summary:
- Coordinates patient transport and transfer. Prioritizes calls and dispatches required units and/or agencies. Assists customers with transportation issues, evaluating needs and condition of the patient.
- Receive and prioritizes all incoming telephone calls.
- Effectively prioritize and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls to appropriate Ambulances.
- Efficiently dispatch vehicles to emergency and non-emergency calls in a timely manner.
- Maintains professional telecommunication and radio contact with the public and crews.
- Data Entry and maintain logs and records of runs, calls and other information.
Requirements:
- EMS and/or dispatch related experience – preferred
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
- Fast typing (30 words/minute)
- Ability to listen, talk and type all at the same time.
