Summary of Duties The communications coordinator coordinates production of corporate communications pieces, including publications, advertisements, press releases, announcements, and Web site content, both written and electronic, for employees, agents, policyholders, and the media. The incumbent also provides administrative support to the Communications Department. Specific duties include preparing communication pieces and executing communication initiatives as assigned; coordinating preparation of corporate publications/presentations for printing/viewing; collaborating on development and maintenance of corporate and agent Web sites and corporate intranet; responding to social media comments and addresses complaints on behalf of the Company; supporting the Communications Department; and performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed. Applicants must possess an Associate’s degree in English, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience combination; Bachelor’s degree in digital media information technology, communications, public affairs or journalism is preferred; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, general database management, desktop publishing, basic website content editing tools, social media tools, and Internet research technologies; previous experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, WordPress, and Google Analytics strongly preferred; demonstrated creative and design skills sufficient to work with pre-press document preparation and sufficient to collaborate on the development and completion of corporate publications; knowledge of SEO, html, web analytics, internet technologies and multimedia applications; strong understanding of social media, video, podcast and blog software; familiarity with AP style a plus; proven abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set schedules, and meet deadlines; and capability to work well independently.
