POSITION SUMMARY: The Commercial Lines Supervisor is responsible for day to day supervision of a team of Account Executives, Account Managers and Account Assistants to ensure service teams are following company policies and procedures and providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to clients, producers, account executives and company personnel. This position works in conjunction with the Training & CORE Business Solutions Manager and the Regional Operations and Compliance Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES:

  • Must be fully knowledgeable of all company processes, procedures and best practices for Commercial Lines insurance servicing.
  • Must be fully knowledgeable of data and document management programs utilized by the company.
  • Supervises Commercial Lines Account Executives, Sr. Account Managers, Account Managers and Account Assistants and provide support to such positions to ensure:
    • Processes, procedures and best practices are being followed
    • Service timelines are met
    • Quality of all work meets company standards
  • Trains, mentors and reviews performance of Account Executives, Sr. Account Managers, Account Managers and Account Assistants.
  • Monitors work load of staff on a regular basis and makes adjustments to re-distribute work as needed.
  • Assists staff with analyzing account problems and finding appropriate solutions.
  • Assists in facilitating communication between Account Managers and Producers/Account Executives to ensure teams are collaborating effectively.
  • Investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management and the Client using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Assists management in planning of long or short-term department objectives.
  • Interprets and implements departmental policies or operating practices.
  • Follows all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participates in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Other job related duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of commercial lines insurance coverage and products is essential.

Skilled in developing excellent inter-personal and client relations; producing effective, accurate verbal and written communication, active listening with strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy; organization and time management. Proficiency in basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office, agency management software, 10-key, scanning and e-mail attachments.

Ability to supervise, interface and work collaboratively with all departments of the company and represent the company in a highly professional manner; be flexible and adaptable to new ideas from fellow employees and management; proactive and assertive; be forth coming with ideas and opinions with entire staff; uphold the highest level of confidentiality; prioritize and plan work activities using time efficiently; problem solve through integrity, sincerity and discretion; identify required tasks, execute appropriately and follow tasks through to completion; manage multiple tasks at one time; and follow policies, procedures and regulations. Present a professional, clean, well-groomed appearance and have a strong sense of ownership and willingness to take responsibility/accountability.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience in related Commercial Lines broker and/or carrier experience required.

Minimum 3 years of people management experience

Professional insurance designation preferred.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

Property & Casualty Agents/Broker license required.
