Position Description
Programs, sets up, and operates CNC vertical mills in tool making, prototyping, and CNC production using G-code and CAD/CAM Software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Programs using Mastercam

· Set up and operate Haas CNC vertical mills

· Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints.

· Reviews CAD models for quoting feedback

· Communicates with engineers and toolmakers

· Determines sequence of operations in a program.

· Chooses cutting tools that will be needed.

· Creates instructions for machinists.

· Assist machine operator in machine fixturing and setup.

· Apply knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

· Writes G-code programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency.

· Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs.

· Monitors all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task.

· Uses various inspection equipment, including CMM machine

· Complies with all safety rules and regulations.

· Must have the ability to write and read complex spreadsheets.

· Must have the ability to read blueprints.

· Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment.

Education and Experience

· High School diploma.

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in CNC programming or a mechanical field preferred.

· 3 years experience in Mastercam minimum.

· 5 years machining experience minimum.

· 5-Axis experience required.

· Haas control experience a plus.

· Experience with manual milling, grinding, lathe, wire EDM a plus.

Work Environment

· Time is spent in a climate controlled office environment.

· Time is spent in front of a computer screen keyboarding and manipulation a mouse.

· Must be able to do shift work.

· Must be willing to visit manufacturing warehouses to observe equipment in action and wear safety goggles and hard hat.

· Must be willing to work in areas with high levels of noise such as plants or engineering departments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
