CNC Operator 1 - 3rd Shift

CNC Operator 1 position at RTI represents an entry level function. Employees will develop technical skills in their assigned areas, an understanding of the rules and regulations that RTI administers, and the basic operating approach at RTI including: reading, understanding, and following work instructions; working in a team environment; and learning to work with minimal supervision when qualified to operate independently
POSITION SUMMARY:- Operations computer numerically controlled equipment in a production setting
- Manufacture production parts with focus on attaining production schedule
- Perform in-process quality checks utilizing proper inspection methods, procedures, and equipment
- Document shop order and inspection data in conformance with Quality systems
- Post production data accurately using SAP software and additional operational systems
- Maintain machine to appropriate manufacturer recommendations to ensure safe machine operations (i.e. lubrication levels, scrap material removal)
- Monitors equipment and performs light machine maintenance while minimizing machine downtime
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with general shop safety and OSHA requirement
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:- High school education or equivalent
- Completion or enrollment in the NMU CNC certification program, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Must successfully pass level 2 quality inspection exam
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Basic computer skills, i.e. shop math and print reading
