CNC Machinist II Details

Summary of Position:

To produce high quality machined parts by setting up, running, and/or programming CNC machines. This is to be done while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety principles
  • Remove tooling and fixtures from finished jobs
  • Put tooling and fixtures in the proper location
  • Pull new tooling and fixtures for new jobs
  • Set up jobs on CNC equipment
  • Alter offsets, feeds, and speeds as needed at the controller
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Verify parts meet print and adjust machine as needed to get parts to conform
  • Identify and replace worn tooling/fixtures
  • Run CNC machines as required
  • Program machines using conversational programming or CAM software if able to do so

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Able to understand and abide by safety principles
  • Familiar with Fanuc and Haas controllers
  • Understands tool geometry and proper tool selection
  • Must know shop math
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to lift 25 pounds of material
  • Familiar with metrology equipment and how to verify parts
  • Able to do set-ups without assistance
  • Passed a Haas CNC [or equivalent], class
  • Minimum of 1-year experience setting-up 4 or 5 axis machines

  • Safety: Commitment to safety. Maintaining a safe and organized workspace
  • Math Skills: The machinist needs to be able to perform math functions common to machine shop work.
  • Attention to Detail: CNC machinists will work with precise equipment to make precision parts. Keen attention to detail is required.
  • Mechanical and Technical Skills: Familiar with the advanced operation of CNC machines. The machines may include mills, lathes, or Swiss Screw machines.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time and able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Able to follow instructions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $0.50 per hour
