The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. The employee is required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, masks, etc.) while working or when walking through the plant. In addition, the employee may be required to wear a respirator and/or dust mast depending on the nature of work performed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The CNC Laser Operator is responsible for producing quality products safely and efficiently by setting up, operating, and performing simple programming of a CNC Laser. The CNC Laser Operator produces parts and tools from metals or other materials using a co2 Laser and Fiber Laser, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision cuts into materials based on the inputs entered by the CNC Laser Operator. The CNC Laser Operator reports to the Fabrication Lead.
