Summary:
B ariatric Program Coordinator is responsible to assist Program Director in the coordination of obtaining and maintaining program’s national accreditation. Assist Program Director with the coordination of clinical activities related to bariatric surgery program in conjunction to providing effective staff relationship. Coordinate staff involved program activities and develop policies and procedures consistent with program objectives required by Metabolic Bariatric Surgery Accreditation Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). Bariatric Program Coordinator is responsible for all elements of data entry and abstraction of the MBSAQIP data registry.
Position Responsibilities
Responsible for all elements of data entry and abstraction of the MBSAQIP data registry for the program.
Responsible for assisting in the planning, development and implementation of goals and objectives of Bariatric program or unit in conjunction with appropriate Bariatric director.
Assist in program objectives on a continual basis; recommend changes to existing policies and procedures as appropriate.
Compile and maintain records, reports and documentation of program and/or unit.Implement and provide effective communication between ancillary departments and physicians, nursing personnel and other health care professionals regarding program and/or unit policies and procedures.
Assist with the development staff educational & competency program.
Participate in support group and other patient activities.
Assist the Director promoting Virtua’s Bariatric Program., community or professional presentations, to both internal and external customers.
Participate in the Committee for Bariatric Program (Advisory Board).
Ensures Coordination of multidisciplinary team in care of patient with optimal patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Assist the Director and or Program Medical Directors and support clinicians in or conducts research. .
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Bariatric Nursing.
Required Education
RN, BSN or Bachelors in associated field preferred.
Training/Certification/Licensures
Active in National Association (ASMBS) preferred.
