General Summary of Position: Delivers proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. RN will be assigned to areas within his/her scope of practice and as deemed appropriate. Education: Graduationfrom a basic educational program in professional nursing. BSN preferred. RN Academic Requirement: For those nurses who were hired as new graduates with an Associate degree, employment with MedStar Washington Hospital Center is contingent upon enrollment into an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of employment, and continuing matriculation in the program to achieve a BSN within 5 years of the program start date. Proof of enrollment to be submitted to Nurse Leader. Experience: Minimum oftwoyears of experience within specialty Certification/Registration/Licensure: Licensed as a registered nurse in Washington, D.C.BLS required.
