Clinical Informatics Specialist Full Time - (3171164) Description

Apply knowledge of clinical and/or revenue cycle workflows and health information technology to optimize EHR-based health care delivery. Collaborate with providers, staff, clinical informatics leaders, and information systems analysts to design, develop, and implement system improvements. Be an effective liaison between end-users and IS to coordinate clinical and/or Revenue Cycle initiatives that support quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Coordinate and deliver standardized education to new system users, and to all, in preparation for enhancements, upgrades, and conversions. Facilitate change requests, per protocol, to ensure customer interests are vetted, evaluated, and rolled out with respect to the organization's priorities. Provide direct support to system users requiring help with application use and EHR-based workflow. Apply excellent problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate with clinical leaders, clinical informatics leaders, and IS staff on project work, and participate on committees which govern system use and modification.
1.Collaborate with providers, staff, clinical informatics leaders, and information systems analysts to design, develop, and implement system requirements.
a.Participates in design & development of information systems for clinical practice and/or revenue cycle
b.Collaborates in the development of documentation templates for use in clinical practice and/or Revenue Cycle.
c.Coordinates, designs and develops evidence-based practice documentation and processes with practice area.
d.Maintain membership on, or consultation to, appropriate committees, or task forces as needed to facilitate the ongoing process of the design, implementation and revision for clinical and/or revenue cycle information systems.
e.Takes a lead role on the implementation team for new or revised clinical and/or revenue cycle applications.
2.Acts as an effective liaison between end-users and IS to coordinate clinical and/or revenue cycle initiatives that support quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency
.Applies human factors and ergonomics to the design of systems and devices.
a.Collaborates with application administrators during the development and implementation of applications to ensure desired goals and objectives are being met.
b.Maintain knowledge of current informatics technology.
c.Maintain familiarity of all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements that impact clinical and/or revenue cycle systems.
d.Demonstrates proficient awareness of legal and ethical issues related to client data, information, privacy and security.
3.Coordinate and deliver standardized education to new system users, and to all, in preparation for enhancements, upgrades, and conversions.
.Provides education to clinical, revenue cycle and support staff regarding appropriate use of health information technology and defined workflows.
a.Assists in the development of training outlines and guides for clinical and/or revenue cycle applications.
b.Work collaboratively with IS Trainer and other educational staff to provide informal and formal education in a variety of formats.
4.Facilitate change requests, per protocol, to ensure customer interests are vetted, evaluated, and rolled out with respect to the organization's priorities.
.Follow the established change management process ensuring that the request adds value or improves workflow for the user and/or the organization.
a.Review the requested change with the requester and document the impact on work process.
b.Assist in navigating the request through the appropriate committees or approving bodies.
c.Works with appropriate IS analyst to determine the feasibility, work effort and impact of requested change.
5.Provide direct support to system users requiring help with application use and EHR-based workflow.
.Provide remote and onsite support to clinical, revenue cycle and support staff.
a.Assist in troubleshooting system and workflow issues.
b.Coordinate and communicate with IT to facilitate timely response and resolution of issues.
c.Assist with the development of Super Users in order to provide timely response to support needs at the various locations.
d.Promotes safe, effective, and efficient use of health IT.
6.Apply excellent problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate with clinical leaders, revenue cycle, clinical informatics leaders, and IS staff on project work, and participate on committees which govern system use and modification.
.Coordinates project management initiatives related to information technology for practice.
a.Provides critical analysis and evaluation of health IT and recommends revision of clinical systems, revenue systems, processes, and workflow to ensure achievement of positive patient outcomes.
b.Applies informatics expertise to the development and enhancement of systems as well as in the day to interactions with clinical, revenue cycle and support staff.
