Position Description Vocera’s Clinical Informaticist are involved in pre-deployment presentations and workshops, clinical workflow analysis and design, establishing best practice implementation processes, on-site training, and consultation, and performing project management duties. The Clinical Informaticist works with customers, partners, and the Professional Services team with the goal of developing Vocera solutions that produce workflow improvements, support the end user and maximize the benefits of the product. This position reports to the Director, International Services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design of customer-specific databases and development of system-level specifications to implement work and communication flows
  • You will employ your clinical knowledge and understanding of clinical workflow design / redesign to propose Vocera solutions that improve and optimize client’s workflow and processes
  • Conduct clinical workflow design sessions at project sites, gathering data and working with the client’s clinical staff in developing new processes and workflow improvements
  • You will provide assistance with training of nurse call and patient alarm integration
  • Provide consultation and training strategies that include Vocera best practices
  • Manage, oversee and deliver clinical / system training for clients
  • Represent and build the Vocera brand by serving as a liaison between Vocera, Vocera Contractors, Third-Party Vendors and Customers
  • Maintain open communication with the Professional Service team, Technical Support Engineers, and Areas Sales Managers
  • Contribute to development of clinical best practices through collaboration with Practice Management and the Project Management Office
  • Develop drafts of clinical documentation and assist with clinical marketing and support of new products and services
  • Identify and develop additional revenue opportunities
  • Align with standard Professional Services deployment methodology
  • You will effectively communicate project status to team members and partners in a timely, consistent, and clear manner
  • Effectively communicate with senior clinical customer contacts
  • Align with administrative policies (i.e., time reporting, expense reporting, calendar maintenance, etc.)

Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations, proposals, workflow designs, and training materials
  • Solid clinical workflow knowledge, including how departments relate to one another and process flows in between them
  • Proven ability to lead and prioritize multiple projects
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations and ability to use MS Excel/Office, Visio and Microsoft Project tools
  • Ability to utilize resources and problem solve independently

Requirements

  • BA/BS in a health care discipline or equivalent; an advanced degree in nursing is helpful
  • 5+ years of clinical practice experience as a RN
  • Clinical consultative experience in a traveling role required
  • Knowledge and demonstrated success in clinical workflow analysis or process redesign
  • Project management experience including documenting system requirements, creating and maintaining project plans, writing project status reports, leading internal teams, and working with client IT and clinical units to deliver solutions aligned with standard processes and meeting project success criteria preferred
  • Hands on experience training in a clinical environment
  • Clinical experience in telemetry or critical care nursing with patient monitoring a plus
  • Interest and desire in using technology to improve healthcare practices and productivity
  • 80%+ travel throughout the assigned region, with the possibility of occasional international travel
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required
