About the Job
The Clinical Coordinator, as a key part of the nursing leadership team, has additional responsibility for the unit. Responsibilities include assisting the nurse manager with staffing, Kronos and performance appraisals and participating in 2nd level coaching and/or disciplinary actions with the nurse manager and human resources. May have responsibility for direct reports on a specific unit. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Works under broad supervision. Performs other related duties as assigned.

About the Progressive Care Unit

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU), also referred to as a step-down unit, intermediate care unit, or telemetry unit, specializes in treating medical and surgical patients whose needs are not serious enough for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but too complex for regular med/surg units. PCU patients are treated for a variety of cardiac and pulmonary problems including new pacemakers, defibrillators, myocardial infractions, stroke, and patients who have recently begun potent drug regimens that require monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSN required
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Licensed as a RN by the Idaho Board of Nursing OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multi-state privilege to practice" compact with Idaho
  • Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience in a hospital setting required
  • Kootenai Health approved professional certification to be obtained within 12 months or when eligibility requirements are met
