Two years experience in a clinic/outpatient setting preferred. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of information technology. Valid Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation Card (CPR). Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistnat Program Meet the state requirement for Medical Assistant Certified Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of information technology. Unique Job Functions: Disease and Population Management Provides patient education in conjunction with the RN using approved educational resources. In collaboration with RN Care Manager, monitors ED Utilization and hospital discharge processes. Participates in supporting the Disease and Population Management goals and initiatives; utilizing existing educational tools, limited to the role and scope of LPN or MA. Assist with Referral Navigation. Assist staff with challenging patient interactions. Leadership Responsible for providing first line of defense back-up to the MA's during staffing or volume fluctuations. Conducts review of schedules to assure effective use of provider time and facilitate access to care. Assists in improving patient flow throughout the day. Acts as a resource person to staff delivering patient care, regarding clinical practice as needed. Responsible for ensuring that supplies are ordered, stocked, and properly maintained. In conjunction with the clinic leadership, assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Ensures staff understanding and compliance. Participates in the interview process, if applicable, for the back office positions and makes recommendations to Clinic Manager. Communicates with Supervisor or Manager regarding progressive guidance for the MA staff. Assists in performance appraisals of personnel through documentation and input to the Supervisor or Manager. Participates in overall fiscal management of the clinic. Acts as a liaison between clinic, other hospital departments and community resources. Actively participates in all leadership team activities. Facilitates the resolution of patient complaints in a professional manner. All other duties as assigned. Quality In collaboration with and under the guidance of RN and Manager, participates in all quality management and regulatory compliance initiatives. Responsible for assuring the required Point of Care Testing Quality Control logs are maintained and Quality audits are completed per calendar month. Responsible to assure that all daily regulatory checks are completed. In conjunction with clinic leadership; monitors monthly quality measures look for trends and make plans for improvements. Works with the Medical Director and Clinic Manager on process and informs staff of trends and areas where improvements are needed. Assists with regulatory readiness and staff compliance (Joint Commission, DOH, OSHA, etc). Assists with the quality management of clinical services. Responsible for the management of In-Basket assignments and ensures completion and closure of encounters. Education, Training, and Competency Acts as a resource person to staff delivering care, regarding clinical practice, clinic policies, and procedures. In conjunction with clinic leadership assists with the organization of orientation, training, growth, and development of the back office staff and completion of initial and ongoing competencies. Assures that equipment is in working order (clean, maintained) and each staff member is competent to use the equipment. Patient Safety Responsible for compliance of the Washington State Vaccines for Children immunization Program. In conjunction with clinic leadership, maintains awareness of any changes of NPSG and participates to ensure staff compliance. Assists with the Patient Safety Process Improvement Initiatives. In conjunction with the clinic leadership, assists with Error Reporting and Management process oversight. LPN Only Triages per protocol and scope of practice for emergent situations.
