Basic Function:
Responsible for performing clerical and administrative duties in an office setting.
Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalency certificate required. Associate degree preferred. Two (2) - three (3) years' previous experience working in an office setting. Familiarity with ICD-9/CPT coding is preferred. A good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of relevant software application including MS Office and Excel. Proficient in use of email and internet. Must possess excellent organizational skill with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Knowledge of administrative procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Will oversee accuracy/verification of patient demographic and insurance/financial information and appropriate scheduling, and office duties.
- Will use a variety of resources to obtain and/or verify demographic and financial information including; the internet, hospital systems, HDX verification system, and/or requiring telephone interaction with other providers and/or insurance carriers.
- Reports billing concerns to RCA’s, Practice Manager and Physician Billing Office.
- The employee will demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with the medical and professional staff.
- The employee will aid in the continuous improvement effort of the ENA office’s registration and billing process.
- Employee will handle all correspondence in a timely manner.
- Performance of electronic medical record (EMR) duties.
- Performance of care team duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
