SUMMARY

The Childcare Ministry Cooradinator works with parents, Children’s Ministry volunteers, and the Hillside Preschool and Academy to offer a comprehensive ministry sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with parents and children 5 years and younter encouraging them to a faith in Jesus Christ. This ministry reaches out into the community as well as serving the families who are already present at Hillside. The Childcare Ministry Cooradinator is responsible for coordinating and directing Sunday morning Nursery, weekday (MWF) Parent’s Morning Out, and assisting with Children’s Ministry special events. This position will support the vision of Hillside United Methodist Church to make and grow disciples who make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit, train, equip, nurture and schedule volunteers for, Check in Desk Hosts, Sunday Morning Nursery, and Weekday Parent’s Morning Out.
  • Manage, train, equip and nurture a team of paid teachers for the Parent’s Morning Out program.
  • Prepare supplies and materials for Sunday Morning Nursery and Parent’s Morning out
  • Develop and implement a curriculm for the Parent’s Morning Out program.
  • Build and maintain connections between the congregation of Hillside UMC and the Parent’s Morning out Program creating a doorway into the church.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Children’s Special Events such as Easter Egg Hunt, VBS, Fall Festival and Children’s Christmas Musical.
  • Develop procedures within the program which adhere to Safe Sanctuary standards and Church Safety and Security Procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe and nurturing environment for children and volunteers at all times
  • Interface with Facilities Department for setup, maintenance, safety and cleaning of used spaces
  • Develop and grow relationships among Hillside families and surrounding community
  • Assist the Children’s Minister as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year of experience in supervision of a children’s program and children’s ministry
  • Active member of a local church, participating in worship, serving and giving.

  • Able to lift and move up to 30lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Required to work in a noisy environment with many distractions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
