Chapter Vision and Overview: Young People in Recovery Chapters support people in or seeking recovery by providing community-based recovery support services. Chapters also advocate on the local and state levels for more access to these services and other effective recovery resources. This peer-based network relies on quarterly workshops, monthly pro-social events, and regular all-recovery meetings.
Essential Responsibilities: Note: This position is part-time, at 20 hrs/week
Chapter Lead:- All communications from any YPR Employee must be responded to within 24 business hours, unless extenuating circumstances regarding schedules are agreed upon in advance between you and your supervisor. This includes text, phone, email, slack, etc.
- Complete YPR’s online orientation and study YPR Leadership Handbook
- Oversee all contractual Chapter events and operations including all-recovery meetings, prosocial events, chapter workshops, and advocacy events
- Communicate weekly with National Chapter Coordinator
- Recruit Chapter Members and develop local Chapter Leadership Team
- Communicate weekly with Chapter Leadership Team
- Engage in grassroots community outreach via emails, phone calls and face-to-face meetings
- Utilize the YPR Connect portal to submit past event reports and funding requests
- Register Chapter leaders, members and supporters through the appropriate platforms (YPR Connect/YPR website)
- Secure free or inexpensive venue space for Chapter meetings and events
- Collaborate with other YPR Chapter Leads for statewide joint events and advocacy efforts
- Support and encourage the many pathways of recovery
- Comply with all YPR reporting procedures, most notably ADP time-tracking and expense reporting
- Marginal/incidental functions and other related tasks, as assigned.
EPIC Coordinator:- All communications from any YPR Employee must be responded to within 24 business hours, unless extenuating circumstances regarding schedules are agreed upon in advance between you and your supervisor. This includes text, phone, email, slack, etc.
- Attend training session with supervisor to become proficient with the EPIC program, develop communication and small group leadership skills, and establish best practices for peer support
- Facilitate 10 EPIC modules on a weekly (or otherwise regular) basis. Responsible for set-up and for welcoming participants to each session
- Prepare for each EPIC module by reviewing slides, reviewing engagement activities, and reviewing facilitator guide prior to implementation
- Complete all necessary PHI certifications
- Collect all EPIC data utilizing YPR’s designated platform. This will include consent forms, intake interviews, exit interviews and, follow-up interviews.
- Communicate regularly with supervisor to ensure data collection is executed with fidelity, EPIC site implementation is running smoothly, and to troubleshoot any problems or challenges
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with EPIC partner site by communicating with partner site point of contact on a regular basis
- Comply with all YPR reporting procedures, most notably ADP time-tracking and expense reporting
- Act as primary liaison between My Recovery is EPIC program, and local YPR chapter community; Invite and encourage program participants to engage in chapter activities
- Coordinate printing of EPIC materials and distribution of survey incentives with supervisor

Official Title: Chapter Lead
Compensation: $18/hr, 20 hrs/week
Required qualifications:- Understanding of substance use prevention and recovery
- Positive and supportive attitude toward all pathways of recovery
- Sensitivity and awareness of the unique needs and stigmas associated with underserved populations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred qualifications:- Personal experience in recovery
- Experience working successfully with young adults
- Experience working successfully with people with substance use disorders
- Experience working successfully with diverse communities
- Previous training and certification in trauma-informed response, cultural competency, and peer education
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)

- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 10 pounds
