What will you be responsible for?

  • Abstract all new cancer diagnoses and/or other reportable neoplasms within the cancer registry database according to established criteria from Michigan Cancer Surveillance Program (MCSP) and the American College of Surgeons – Commission on Cancer (ACoS-CoC).
  • You will utilize critical thinking skills and have a high attention to detail while performing case findings and patient follow-up activities using established workflow
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other clinical staff to obtain complete clinical information

Required Qualifications*

  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) from the National Cancer Registrar Association required
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a cancer registry
  • Ability to be analytical, reliable, and adaptable in clinical situations
  • Capable of working and making decisions independently
  • Take initiative and step outside of the box to develop creative ideas
  • Strong dedication to team success
  • Handle problems in a solutions-oriented manner

Desired Qualifications*

  • An Associate’s Degree with experience in all aspects of the cancer registry operations and cancer program standards
  • RHIT or RHIA with CTR

Work Schedule

This position allows a flexible schedule with the ability to work from home.

Pay: From $46,000.00 per year
