CERTIFIED MEDICAL TECH OPPORTUNITY!!!! $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS General Description Performs resident care activities and related non-professional nursing services under the direction of the Charge Nurse/Nurse Manager to ensure quality care of residents. Essential Duties 1. Provides individualized attention and nursing care in accordance with resident Care Plan which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating etc. 2. Responsible for observing and promptly reporting any changes in resident conditions to Charge Nurse/Nurse Manager: ex. level of activity, eating habits, behaviors, and physical, mental and emotional status. 3. Performs tasks assigned by Charge Nurse/Nurse Manager including vital signs, resident's weights, applying non-prescription creams/ointments, collecting specimens. 4. Escorts residents to dining room, assists with feeding, and documents meal consumption. 5. Passes supplement, snacks, and fluids to residents per protocol and schedule and documents consumption. 6. Provides care that maintains each resident's skin integrity in order to reduce the risk of pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents per protocol, turning and repositioning immobile residents protocol, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin as needed. 7. Answers resident Call lights promptly and courteously. 8. Completes Certified Nursing Assistants Electronic records documenting care provided and other information in accordance with facility policy and procedures. 9. Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician in accordance with established policies and procedures. 10. Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are ordered, received into the Facility, administered and at change of shift as required by policies and procedures of Facility and applicable state/federal regulations. Qualifications Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have successfully completed a State approved course work and examinations to obtain certifications as both Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medication Technician. ADA REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, and walk and stand for most of the working day. Experience: A minimum of three months prior nursing assistant experiences in long term care preferred.
