Certified Medical Assistant - CMA

Responsibilities: The Certified Medical Assistant provides general support to physicians for patient care and examinations, including exam preparation and lab work. This position is also responsible for supporting the functions of the front desk area.
Knowlegde of - CPT and ICD10 codes
- The principles, methods, materials, equipment and technique used to perform laboratory functions
- The basic principles, methods and techniques used to administer injections to adults and pediatric patients
- The safety precautions required in laboratory work including universal precautions
- Keyboarding and data entry
- Customer service skills
- Use Microsoft Office, send and receive e-mail, and navigate the Internet
- Make accurate arithmetic computations
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Function well in a team environment
- Take patient vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, and BMI.
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests in accordance with prescribed procedures and instructions
- Make accurate observations of test results and to prepare accurate reports and records
- Maintain treatment and work areas in a prescribed state of cleanliness
Qualifications:Education: Education equivalent to completion of high school.
And
Experience: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
Certification as a Medical Assistant from one of the following accredited agencies: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologists, certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from American Association of Medical Assistants, Medical Assistant from National Center for Compentency Testing, or CCMA from National Healthcareer Association.
