OverviewBardon, Inc. dba LaFarge North America, a LaFargeHolcim company, has immediate openings for CDL Class A or B Drivers to operate concrete mixer trucks throughout the Rockville, Maryland area and vicinity. This position will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of ready mix concrete to residential, commercial and government customers. Responsibilities

  • Reviews order ticket to ensure load is at the proper slump and that any additives needed are on board.
  • Maintains the load in transit to the job.
  • Inspects the load during wash down, and reports any problems.
  • Completes proper washout procedures both during, and at the end of the day.
  • May advise the customer of value-added ingredients such fiber, retardant, color or other additives.
  • Conducts pre and post-trip inspections on the vehicle according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration guidelines, maintains appropriate documentation, and advises maintenance of any issues requiring attention.
  • Maintains proper air pressure in tires, and proper fluid levels to include oil, hydraulic, coolant and fuel.
  • Performs minor repairs to truck, as needed.
  • Communicates truck/job status to Dispatch.
  • Maintains good public relations with customers.
  • Completes all required paperwork.
  • Immediately reports all incidents and accidents in accordance with Company procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Class A or B CDL license and medical certification card
  • Ability to operate both a manual and an automatic transmission
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a concrete mixer truck, or two (2) years operating a roll-off, tractor trailer, dump truck or vehicle with a similar center of gravity.
  • Clean driving record
  • Strong safety-orientation, and an appreciation for the dangers of distracted driving by mobile phones and other electronic devices.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, and occasional Saturdays
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to read and speak English
