Overview: Provide direct assistance to assigned caseload of clients while ensuring adherence to conditions of the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections and The Salvation Army Harbor Light Complex. Responsibilities: - Supervise program residents on the assigned floor.
- Supervise residents on assigned caseload, meeting with them as often as needed.
- Assist and support treatment staff in resident’s program plan.
- Urge resident participation in appropriate community activities.
- Provide individual and group counseling as assigned.
- Report accurate weekly statistics.
- Refer residents to appropriate community treatment resources in order to achieve their program goals.
- Ensure all resident bed checks and headcounts are being performed and documented.
- Ensure that all persons and materials are being monitored for contraband.
- Ensure all corrections residents are being monitored through complete administration of check-in and check-out procedures.
- Act as Team Leader as requested and perform other duties as instructed by your supervisor.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
- Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field plus 1 year experience in the community corrections field.
- ACA Standard (#) compliance permitting – High School diploma plus mandatory 5 years of experience in the community corrections field.
- Must be able to routinely lift and carry boxes weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Must be able to use stairs, when necessary, for building evacuations, drills or during elevator maintenance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by The Army’s insurance carrier.
- Read and write legibly. Good communication skills.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or in process of obtaining.
- Effective in dealing with the public and/or dealing with intoxicated individuals.
