Caregiver (2pm-10pm)

OVERALL JOB PURPOSECaregivers embody our principle of Person-Centered care and our core values of People, Passion, and Excellence by providing the highest standard of care and customer service. Duties include assisting residents with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, grooming, taking medication, activities, and some housework.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS- High school diploma required (college degree preferred)
- Certification required by state, such as CNA or Caregiver
- Current and valid first aid and CPR certification
- Extensive experience working in a caring environment with the elderly
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills
- Experience and knowledge working with patients who have chronic and acute conditions preferred
- Ability to problem solve quickly
- Ability to work in a team setting and be a team player
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional approach with coworkers, residents, and guests
- Possess excellent customer and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under time constraints with little supervision, maintain regulatory compliance, and meet department deadlines.
- Must be able to perform job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist clients with personal care, including dressing, toileting, mobility, administering medication, personal hygiene, eating and assistant with preparation for doctor’s appointments.
- Monitor patient medications and routinely update health charts.
- Maintain open communication between families and health care professionals regarding client’s medical and emotional condition.
- Observes residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to the Health Services Director.
- Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary.
- Routinely document and report any changes in client’s health status.
- Routinely completes all forms and documentation such as incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely manner.
- Ensure highest client safety and well-being.
- Responsible for participating in and supporting the resident-centered activity program by encouraging resident involvement.
- Assist in maintaining an environment safe for residents where their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being is top priority
- Respond to resident emergencies; provide first aid assistance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Makes resident beds, empties resident garbage, and tidies resident rooms daily and as needed.
- Changes resident bed linens according to facility schedule and as needed due to incontinence.
- Changes resident towels on bath days and as needed if soiled.
- Assists with resident laundry per shift guidelines.
- Maintains resident clothing and clothing closet in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
- Perform all work assigned for the agreed-upon salary, accepting no additional payment or non-perishable gifts from residents, vendors, Community Management, or others.Meet the assigned work requirements of the job. Regular attendance is required.
- Serve as a role model for all employees by displaying a responsible, cooperative, and positive attitude.
- Represent the Community in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.Adhere to dress/appearance code. Changes in attire may be dictated by special occasion or weather conditions. If you have questions, check with your supervisor.
- Adhere to and follow company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Promote resident advocacy and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times.
- Maintain personnel, resident and business proprietary and/or confidential matters/material in strict confidence with management of the company (and/or other company staff as needed).
