Cardiology Veterinary Patient Care Attendant Job DescriptionJob IdentificationTitle: Cardiology Patient Care Attendant Department: Specialty Services; Cardiology Schedule: FT Hours – Monday-Thursday 7:30a-4:30p Classification: Non-exempt Job SummaryThe Cardiology Patient Care Attendant is responsible for assisting the cardiology clinician and RVT so that they can complete their daily tasks in a more timely and efficient manner. In conjunction with patient care this role is also responsible for the routine cleaning and husbandry of the hospital ensuring that proper infectious disease protocols are followed. This position calls for a person with at least one-year of experience with animal care and handling in a veterinary setting. The Cardiology PCA will act as an advanced PCA in that they will be trained to start cardiology appointments, perform discharges and client communications, and take patient vitals. The right candidate will show interest in wanting to grow as a veterinary professional as this position will require being able to take on more advanced responsibility with time. Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a veterinary healthcare environment that performs in- and out-patient procedures as well as provides hospitalization care for small companion animals. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, as well as specialized veterinary medical equipment including anesthesia machines, radiology machines, ultrasound, oxygen therapy units, and IV fluid pumps. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
