The Campus Safety Officer is responsible for providing public safety and security for the College community by protecting college property, buildings, grounds, equipment and other assets, located on campus grounds, owned or leased property. The Campus Safety Officer receives and processes reports, obtains statements and conducts initial inspections of incidents, accidents, and complaints. Campus Safety Officers must be able to positively interact with a diverse campus community and have a service focus. Campus Safety Officers are required to respond to emergency and crisis situations within the capabilities and limits of the Department’s authority. Campus Safety Officers are designated as “Essential Personnel” and are required to report to work during emergencies.

Pierce College is recruiting to fill two vacancies, one at the Fort Steilacoom campus and the other at the Puyallup campus. Both vacancies are full time (40 hours per week) over - time eligible positions with Pierce College District. Infrequent travel to Pierce College campuses or sites may occur.
The starting salary range of this position is $3,616.00 to $4,188.00 a month (dependent upon qualifications), with annual periodic increments up to $4,855.00. However, your paycheck is just part of the total compensation package. There is an outstanding benefits package which is worth an additional value equivalent to about 30% of your salary. This position works indoors in an office environment and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
