Located in Berlin, CT, this role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is part of a team of Buyer Planners supporting ASSA ABLOY brands produced and distributed from our Berlin, Connecticut plant. This position is responsible for the purchase of a combination of the following: fabricated parts, subcontract manufacturing, production tooling and raw material. Responsibilities: · Responsible for the procurement of all related materials and supplies as established by production requirements. · Prepare necessary purchase orders with all related documentation to ensure required material and services are provided by an approved supplier · Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure incoming material meets all necessary requirements for production · Strong interaction with Production Managers and Leads to prioritize and expedite necessary part components / assemblies for daily production as well as manage overall floor inventory to minimize part shortages · Analyze planning and manufacturing production schedules to ensure both internal and external suppliers meet on time delivery to support customer OFR (order fill rate) · Reduce cost in the procurement of materials and services through value analysis, effective negotiation techniques and project related sourcing strategies · Maintain records indicating possible materials and substitute source of supply. · Work closely with Receiving / Accounts Payable teams to resolve invoice discrepancies · Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships that provide new ideas, solutions, and resources for improvement on lead time and delivery of goods and services they are providing · Support to Engineering on new product development projects · Participate in monthly Kaizen events to improve overall efficiencies related to responsible production lines Requirements: · Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field required · Experience with MRP system, preferably JDE · Experience with LEAN principles and application · A minimum of 3-5 years of supply management experience in a high volume manufacturing environment · Strong negotiation and communication skills · Analytical and problem solving skills · Strong Microsoft Excel skills · Proficiency in Outlook, Word and PowerPoint · Self-starter Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: Schedule: Work Location: One location
