UW Medicine Supply Chain Management Strategic Sourcing has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, BUYER 1.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under minimal supervision, prioritize and perform purchasing duties as delegated.
  • Procure supplies, equipment and services as required to meet the Medical Centers needs.
  • Work with a variety of customers, with a high priority on customer service.
  • Evaluate submissions for new products/vendors and recommend selections that best meet the Medical Center's criteria and need.
  • Researching requests, new vendors and contracts.
  • Investigate and resolve issues for customers.
  • Conduct research.
  • Secure quotes and documentation.
  • Locate suppliers.
  • Assist departments with product selections that best meet the Medical Centers needs and criteria.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors, with a high priority on customer service.
  • Work with Accounts Payable and vendors to resolve contractual/pricing issues.
  • Facilitate returns to ensure appropriate credits are issued.
  • Utilize the Materials Management Information System (MMIS) to perform duties.

    REQUIREMENTS

    One year of work experience in buying or purchasing AND an Associate of Arts Degree in Purchasing Management or two years of work experience in buying or purchasing AND two years of college; OR an equivalent combination of work experience in buying and purchasing and college level training.

    UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine, and Airlift Northwest.
