Business Intelligence Specialist Details

Gulf Coast Educators FCU is looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist! The Business Intelligence Specialist is expected to assist the BI Coordinator in forming and communicating business solutions based on data extracted from a variety of sources. Under the direction of the BI Coordinator, performs specialized financial research and organizes customer services operations data to support in the development of corporate decisions and trend analysis. The position will disseminate the data collected and properly align those results with corporate goals and strategic plan.

The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills. A strong background in mathematics, advanced Excel skills, and knowledge of SQL will also be beneficial.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administration of the Credit Union s MCIF, CRM, Data Warehouse, and any other information systems to analyze and aggregate information to assist in and identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
  • Perform scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly data extractions to assist the BI Coordinator. Including extraction, manipulation, cleansing, formatting, processing and analysis.
  • Stay current and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, automation, analysis, validation and documentation.
  • Responsible for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all governmental regulations and Credit Union Policies and guidelines. Responsible for identifying reportable transactions under the Bank Secrecy Act, obtaining required information and reporting transactions. Responsible for complying with Federal Rules and Regulations as required by NCUA.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • (1) A two-year college degree, or an equivalent amount of experience.
  • Advanced technical skills; Attention to detail; Decision making/judgment; Problem solving; high level of demonstrated initiative.
