We are seeking a Business Development Director to form part of a team that provides solutions to health and development challenges though research! You will supervise and coordinate all activities of the sales team along with building relationships with agency customers, contracting officers and small business representatives.
This is a direct hire opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily sales operations
- Conduct Government market research and personal networks ( Fedbizops, Govwin, other task order databases, government news and websites)
- Understand government contracting indirect rates and manage programs for profitability to ensure development of effective pricing strategy
- Track and monitor funding and contracting actions
- Supporting and sustaining existing business and developing supportive relationships
- Promote organic growth of existing contracts / subcontracts
- Manage sales pipeline and report business development results
- Perform Gate Reviews to make go/no-going decisions
- Track monthly results and trends for business forecasting
- Establish sales goals and metrics
- Train and evaluate employees
- Resolve escalated customer complaints
- Work with HR to recruit top-tier talent
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field, MBA or MS degree preferred
- 10+ years’ of related experience
- 5+ years of direct program / financial management
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience interacting effectively with government customers
- Demonstrated successful business development performance and wins
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent written and communication skills
Background/Security:
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/Public Trust
