Department or School Site The Inspection Department provides professional quality assurance and regulatory support for the Facilities Services Division’s school Department staff with backgrounds in public school construction, architecture, engineering contracting, general construction and specialized crafts. Job Duties/Responsibilities A Building/Construction Inspector for the Los Angeles Unified School District performs continuous inspection of contract school construction for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. Extensive driving is required in fulfilling responsibilities. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency is required. College semester units or equivalent quarter units from a recognized college or university in the areas of architecture, engineering, construction management, and construction technology are preferable. Special: Building/Construction Inspectors must possess and maintain certification as a Class 1, Class 2 or Class 3 General Inspector by the Division of the State Architect (DSA). A valid California Driver License. Use of an automobile.
