Employment Type : Full-Time

POSITION: Building Aides (these are temporary positions during the Covid crisis)


COMPENSATION: $15.00 hour


SHIFT: 4 Days per week/5-7 hours/day–hours will vary depending on times of school


GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Building Aide will serve as the primary supervision of the students during lunch and recess time. The Building Aide will also assist the Principal and Building Secretary with coverage of the front office, provide general building assistance at the direction of the Principal.


ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • As directed by the Principal, supervise the children inside and outside the building during lunch periods.
  • Assist children during lunch and recess times.
  • General safety, first aid responsibilities.
  • Provide for accounting functions associated with the school lunch program.
  • at the direction of the Principal, follow and implement school procedures for lunch and recess.
  • Assist with general assistance duties in the school to be determined by the Principal, to include but not limited to copying, and office coverage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the building Principal.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The ability to make accurate tabulations and computations; the ability to readily understand and carry out directions, both oral and written; the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form; the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; the ability to develop an effective working relationship with staff, students, parents and the community; creative thinking, problem solving skills and the ability to perform duties with an awareness of school department requirements and policies.


EDUCATION:

Such as may be gained through graduation from a senior high school or equivalent (GED). One year related experience preferred.
