    About the Job


The Administrative Assistant supports the mission of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commission through assisting the Regional Manager in administrative duties as they relate to the Regional Manager’s accountability, financial responsibility, and insurance of proper management of all resources of the License Branches, in compliance with all policies, procedures and programs of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commission.

A Day in the Life:


  • Maintain daily schedule for Regional Manager.
  • Ensure regional staff conduct work in a courteous, friendly, and respectful manner at all times.
  • Facilitate resolution for all customer complaints as escalated by the various branch locations within the assigned region.
  • Provide relief and support to the Regional Manager’s daily operations.
  • Monitor the inventory of office products and supplies within the branches assigned to the region.
  • Complete records and/or submit reports on various financial and accountability processes for the assigned branches within the region.
  • Clarify, support, and provide guidance to branch staff in the interpretation and implementation of BMV policies and procedures.
  • Ensure training, development, and mentoring of regional employees assigned to the region.
  • Communicate to the proper chain of command any equipment failures requiring service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need for Success:


  • High school diploma and one year of experience with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or equivalent service industry experience.
  • Ability to interact and verbally communicate with a variety of employees and customers, both on a one-on-one basis and in groups.
  • Ability to present information to clients, customers, and employees.
  • Ability to write reports and operational correspondence.
  • Ability to rationalize customer concerns.
  • Ability to think logically in order to troubleshoot, analyzes situations, and makes sound decisions.
  • Ability to apply fundamental cash management and accounting principles.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, e-mail systems, and STARS.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and phones.
  • Knowledge of basic machinery operation.
  • Good knowledge of BMV services and STARS.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel up to 20 percent of the time to branch locations, training, or branch-related community activities
