Job Type:Location: LOC_HOME-Home/Remote Office LocationReq ID: 87374Shift: DaysEmployment Status: Regular - Full Time Job SummaryThe DSBU (Data Science and Biostatistics Unit) within the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics (DBHi) collaborates with researchers across CHOP’s Research Institute to provide analysis and consultation on methods development, study design, and data analysis. This interdisciplinary team consists of biostatisticians, epidemiologists, data scientists, data analysts and other methodologists. Staff have expertise managing and using data sources and registries associated with electronic health records, clinical trials, administrative, claims, and surveys. DSBU staff have experience across various statistical methodologies, including propensity score matching, multivariate modeling, latent variable mixture models, and geographic information systems. We regularly seek mission-oriented individuals with expertise in the areas of biostatistics, quantitative methods, data science and geospatial analyses.
In order to support DSBU’s rapid growth in meeting the analysis needs of CHOP’s hundreds of research teams, we are recruiting a Biostatistician II. The biostatistician will work with teams across the Research Institute to clean and manage data, apply statistical methods to data, and interpret results. In particular, this role will work with principal investigators within CHOP's Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness. This position will report to the Biostatistician Supervisor within the DSBU.
Job ResponsibilitiesBiostatistician II is a moderately independent role that builds upon an entry level position based on demonstrated increase in consistent proficiency of methods application, programming, interpretation, and communication. The role largely works under the supervision of teams that include a more senior statistician/manager and one or more biomedical domain experts. Management of this role is usually provided on a semi-weekly basis with an emphasis on validation, consistency, refinement of communication, and expansion to more complex techniques.
