POSITION TITLE: Big Data Architect – Google Cloud
POSITION SUMMARY:The Big Data Architect, Google Cloud will partner with Data Platform teams by providing deep technical subject matter expertise for successfully deploying large scale data solutions in the enterprise using modern data/analytics technologies in Google Cloud. As a $4.5 Billion retailer with global operations, you will be responsible for managing ETL Architecture, Data Architecture, and marketing related projects at our ambitious pace. The Manager will pro-actively problem solve and serve as a subject matter expert for Customer, Marketing and Personalization marketplaces working closely with business stakeholders. You will be working closely with IT Security and Legal teams to improve the quality and value of Customer data, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of a data driven organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead detailed technical assessments of current state of enterprise data and architect a path to transformation into a modern data powered enterprise
• Create detailed target state technical, security, data and operational architecture and design blueprints incorporating modern data technologies and cloud data services demonstrating modernization value proposition
• Work within and across agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies
• Design, build and operationalize large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications using GCP data and analytics services including- Cloud DataProc, Cloud Dataflow/Apache Beam, Cloud Data Fusion, Composer/Airflow, Big Table, Cloud BigQuery, Cloud PubSub, Cloud storage Cloud Functions & GitHub
• Design and build production data pipelines from data ingestion to consumption within a hybrid big data architecture, using Cloud Native solutions, Java, Python, Scala, or Golang
• Migrate data from legacy systems including Hadoop, Exadata, Oracle, Teradata, or DB2

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
• Active Google Cloud Data Engineer Certification or Active Google Professional Cloud Architect Certification
• 3 years experience architecting and implementing next generation data and analytics platforms on GCP cloud
• Deep knowledge and understanding of technical aspects of data and database systems
• Deep understanding of relevant development languages, tools, frameworks, utilities, and technical dependencies
• Strong experience with enterprise security protocols and best practices around data Security
• Ability to assess risk of technical changes and provide data-driven solutions
• Experience in the retail industry a plus
