Vision To be the “gold standard” for health care in Montana. Values: JOB SUMMARY (overview of job): The Social Services Supervisor will report to the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) Program Director. The Social Services Supervisor is responsible for implementing the organizational and departmental mission, values, vision and goals. Administrative responsibilities include performance reviews, quality improvement programs, professional developmental programs for staff, and preparation and management of regulatory requirements such as DNV and etc. The Social Services Supervisor will supervise the social services team to include: Social Worker, Recreation Therapist and Clinical Assessment Coordinator. The Social Services Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of social services staff management and for creating a professional practice environment that focuses on the customer. The Social Services Supervisor monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of the social services provided on the BHU. The Social Services Supervisor will periodically audit the quality of the social work services. The Social Services Supervisor will coordinate the referral and inquiry development process and provide clinical assessments for clients and potential clients. The Social Services Supervisor is also responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, treatment planning, group planning and group treatment, individual treatment, family treatment, insurance reviews, discharge planning and follow-up care. Additionally, he/she is expected to function well as a member of the multidisciplinary team and participate in the unit community relations program as well as with sources outside of the hospital. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Leadership/Management. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current Montana License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) required. BLS required. Aptitudes: Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Open to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.
