Monitoring patient and campus safety, overseeing medication times on residential campuses, transporting patients short and long distances, and facilitating recreation and leisure groups. Ensuring the safety of our target population and promoting quality care for all patients. This position may be scheduled to work on the Adult Crisis Unit, Children’s Crisis Unit/Juvenile Addiction Receiving Facility, Adult Detox unit, Transitional Living Campus (adult residential), or Vince Smith Campus (adolescent residential). 1. Effectively interacts with family members by phone and during scheduled/unscheduled group activities and assures cleanliness of units and campus. 2. Reliably facilitates quality care which includes: assisting patients with activities of daily living, social recreation, unit activities, community meetings, basic living skills, and wrap-up groups. 3. Attentively supervises patients during meals & snacks, maintains patient and unit safety, monitors patient behavior, and assists with admission and discharge process. 4. Consistently works and communicates effectively as a team with other staff. 5. Appropriately and safely handles difficult situations with co-workers and patients in accordance with company policies. 6. Continuously maintains patient safety by carrying out suicide precautionary measures and using de-escalation techniques including ACT and TEAM training seclusion and restraining per unit policies and procedures. 7. Effectively initiates the admission process by conducting patient searches, inventory of patient’s personal effects, orientation of the patient to the campus rules and patient rights. 8. Successfully demonstrates proficiency in obtaining vital signs on patients. 9. Thoroughly assists patients in the discharge process by providing them with the return of their belongings and explains discharge instructions. 10. Effectively assists in housekeeping activities such as patient laundry, making beds, emptying trash, cleaning the dining area, ensuring that dirty and clean linen rooms are organized, etc. 11. Appropriately facilitates and supervises leisure activities, patient meetings and other activities. 12. Successfully evaluates and addresses patient needs for basic life skill education and facilitate life skills educational groups. 13. Safely and reliably as needed, will cautiously transport patients in company vehicle (15 passenger van), both short and long distances in various conditions (ex: rain, fog, daytime, nighttime). Will carefully adhere to FL. traffic and driving safety regulations during each transport. 14. Appropriately uses time management skills to ensure time is used efficiently and patient care is provided in a timely and efficient manner. 15. Continuously promotes an overall professional presentation to co-workers, patients, and patients collateral sources. 16. Routinely conducts self in professional and ethical manner with co-workers and patients. 17. Promptly reports to supervisor any problems in program effectiveness and helps create solutions. 18. Consistently maintains compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA standards. 19. Reliably observes urine drug screens and breathalyzers for patients. 20. Politely and accurately answers questions about SalusCare and serves as a resource about SalusCare for visitors seeking a staff person, information about a location or service, etc. 21. Appropriately shares job responsibilities evenly and helps others when needed. Able to prioritize and perform several tasks at one time. 22. Routinely demonstrates good attendance and reliability by doing the following: consistently reports to work on time; reliable work performance; no abuse of leave/PTO policy; adequately plans leave and makes every effort to cover responsibilities in emergencies and coordinates training/workshops/meetings with supervisor as necessary. Dependably works hours that are needed to ensure the needs of programs are met. 23. Effectively utilizes staff training opportunities to enhance skills needed for delivery of patient services. 24. Routinely demonstrates a sound understanding of and a commitment to complying with CARF standards. 25. Effectively attains competence with company electronic medical record and uses it effectively within required time frames. 26. Consistently displays cultural competence and sensitivity and ensures services provided incorporate patient-specific cultural values. 27. Successfully performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor. BHT II Lead Responsibilities: 1. Consistently displays appropriate leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to prioritize and adapt while under pressure. 2. Effectively provides BHT direction on processes of admission, service delivery, discharge, and general flow of patients while monitoring unit standards. 3. Reliably provides BHT guidance on administering care to patients and answering questions regarding policies and procedures. 4. Unfailingly adheres to attendance, professionalism, training, and incident reporting policies and procedures.
