Overthrow Hospitality is an award winning hospitality group based in the East Village. What started as a collection of tight knit, heartfelt restaurants and bars in the East Village is now blossoming nationwide with several new projects currently underway. Our goal is to maintain our core values by empowering the neighborhoods we serve and will require us to select the right team members now so we can build a strong team as we continue to grow.

We are currently seeking a barista/counter person to join our team at one of our newest locations. This individual will be a part of a small team responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant. They will have a direct impact on the level of service that we offer to our guests, not only through the service you provide but your interaction with the guests themselves. Additionally, you are someone who has a passion for sweets & wine, is able to work well with others, all while remaining motivated, energetic and passionate about what we do.

We are looking for passionate and experienced Baristas/Counter members to join our team for a Full-time position. Weekend and evening availability is a must!

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, take customer orders, handle monetary transactions, pick up drinks and assist in retail sales in addition to having full knowledge of the pastry, Viennoiseries and savory menus.
• Efficiently run the coffee and bakery station, serving coffees, wine and baked items to to-go guests, as well as to seated guests in the dining room.
• Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of working surfaces and equipment at all times by maintaining hygiene standards
• Ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform at all times
• Assist in unloading deliveries, stocking and rotating products
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous counter service and cashier experience in a high-end environment is preferred
• Excellent Customer service skills
• A flexible schedule and availability to work on weekends and holidays
• Attention to details
• Ability to multitask
• Passion for coffee and knowledge of different coffee beverages and techniques
• Knowledge of Vegan pastry and baked goods is preferred
• Be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds / be capable of using stairs
