Position: Bar Manager

Overview:

The bar manager will collaborate on the planning and implementation of new business plans of Mixology with the F&B Director. The Director will look to this person for insight and ideas based on their prior experience regarding events, specials and overall bar management that focuses on customer service and bringing patrons into the facility to drive sales.

The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of all stations of a professional restaurant and bar, He/she will have a dedication to excellence and sense of urgency. A passion for success and the enthusiasm to lead a team of professionals in addition to developing and training new team members as well as create a system of organization. Attention to detail is a must for any successful candidate as well a high standard for cleanliness. Hospitality is way of life and not just an industry. Responsibilities:

The bar manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the facility in accordance with IHG and Drexelbrook brand standards. The bar manager will be responsible for the day to day operations including training, scheduling, forecasting, inventory, ordering, reconciling money, and creating weekly drink specials. They may also be asked to manage the food and beverage operations when the Director is not on site, assist with special events as necessary, and cover hotel Manager on Duty shifts as requested. The successful candidate will direct, implement, and maintain a high standard of service and guide the staff to do the same. This individual should have extensive bar sales and promotional experience and be able to drive revenue, including event planning and execution. Essential skills include organization, inventory management, mixology, and product knowledge. A minimum of two years bar management experience and a college degree preferred.

In addition to the above expectations, the manager will be responsible for hiring and managing bartending staff and will also bartend and support the bartending staff as needed. Compensation includes salary and tips.

  • Plan and manage events that will drive sales
  • Book and execute events such as bands, food trucks, etc.
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations on how to increase traffic and sales
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Hire and manage bartending staff, including scheduling training, etc.
  • Manage and order alcohol inventory
  • Restock and replenish other bar inventory and supplies
  • Plan and present bar menu weekly
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for patrons
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
  • Interact with customers, take their orders and serve snacks and drinks
  • Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
  • The ability to utilize the POS system and train new bartenders
  • Manage Small Games of Chance at Streetlight
  • Provide all documentation and tracking related to these sales

Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience as a bartender (5 years minimum) Mixology
  • Computer literacy, experience with POS systems
  • Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
  • Relevant training certificates
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
  • Proven success in driving sales
