Primary Purpose of the Position

The successful FleetGenix Market Specialist will be responsible for building a market territory that is comprised of auto auctions, rental car companies, fleet providers, and used car dealers. The Market Specialist will provide key, remote, and push-button fob cutting and programming on a variety of makes and models of vehicles. Your ability to effectively use OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and aftermarket programming tools is critical to this role. Responsibilities to establish, maintain and administratively support customers are included in this role.


Essential Functions

  • Identify potential clients within your market territory.
  • Supply ongoing support to existing clients within your territory.
  • Serve as primary client contact within the assigned market territory.
  • Be the subject matter expert and adequately explain technical diagnoses to non-mechanical individuals on a consistent basis
  • Understand basic functions of cutting keys and be familiar with common code series.
  • Be able to duplicate keys and be able to cut keys by code.
  • Be able to perform minor adjustments and repairs on key machines.
  • Have good organization skills and be able to manage inventory.
  • Keep track of inventory shipments to and from your location.
  • Utilize various OEM and aftermarket tools to complete jobs in a satisfactory and timely manner.
  • Gather required information for a complete vehicle profile.
  • Utilized supplied technologies to remove Personal Identity Information from all electronic systems within a vehicle.
  • Responsible for driving a company provided vehicle to various locations within the assigned geographic area.
  • Correspond to customers and office personnel via email.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay well-informed with rapidly changing automotive technology.
  • Keep team management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
  • Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules.
  • Responsible for carrying out required van and equipment maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of car dealership experience OR experience working as a locksmith/related field.
  • Strong automotive mechanical and electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
  • Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Professional appearance and communication.
  • Arrive to work on time and commit to scheduled appointments.
  • Able to follow directions of managers and complete assigned tasks within the given timeframe.
  • Ability to safely store company van. This area should also have access to an electrical outlet.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office.

Reports to: Fleet Manager


Location: Various locations throughout the United States


Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


FLSA Status: This position is non-exempt.

  • This job operates in various automotive repair shop environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance. This position is responsible for driving a company provided vehicle to various locations with their assigned geographic area.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
  • Requires standing for extended period of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
  • Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
  • Requires frequent driving and some typing. Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.

Travel: Extensive travel within the assigned geographic area is expected
