We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Research Technician.
Responsible for performing basic lab duties and more advanced laboratory duties in the Biochemistry and Pathology Core of a multi-PI program project grant on cardiometabolic inflammation under the general supervision of the Core Director. The program project grant focuses on the role of macrophages in promoting progression of atherosclerotic plaques and adipose tissue inflammation in obesity. The successful candidate will assist the Program Project investigators in the collection, processing and analysis of mouse tissue samples, and the performance of biochemical assays. Experience in mouse models (blood collection, mouse handling), tissue sectioning and immunohistochemistry, and biochemical assays (ELISA, plate reader assays) and molecular biology techniques (DNA and RNA purification, PCR) is preferred.
To qualify you must have a This is an entry level trainee position with no experience necessary and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field is not required (but preferred). Experience in some areas of basic cellular immunology, molecular biology, tissue culture would be advantageous but is not required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field preferred. 1 years or more of lab related experience preferred. Knowledge and experience in biological sciences, including Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, etc., highly preferred. May be required to occasionally work flexible hours due to demands of experiments.
