Tombras, a 450+ person, full-service, national advertising agency with a digital mindset, is seekin Associate Media Director, Performance Media.
Where you’ll be working: Remote or can be based in our Atlanta or Knoxville offices.
As the Associate Media Director, Performance Media, you’ll be responsible for leading a cross-channel team of media planners and buyers dedicated to developing performance media strategy across multiple client accounts. This position is client-facing and you will be expected to develop comprehensive performance media plans and effectively present, communicate, and provide concise rationale for all client recommendations. You will also be collaborating across departments with Account Service, Search, Social and Analytics teams to determine the best way to achieve client business goals by developing integrated media plans that optimize the best mix of digital, traditional, social, and search media channels. You will oversee the media planning process, media strategy, implementation, optimization and reporting of the integrated media campaigns. In addition to being an expert integrated media strategist, the AMD, Performance Media must be a strong leader, capable of effectively leading a team of media professionals and demonstrating commitment to their career advancement.
What you'll be doing:
- Oversee performance media accounts in pursuit of business oriented goals such as revenue targets and lead generation.
- Work closely with media leaders in Social and Search departments to complement their channel strategies and incorporate their strategic budget recommendations into the overall media plan.
- Coordinate with channel experts across various buying disciplines in order to develop integrated media plans that accomplish desired business outcomes.
- Work as the client-facing contact that represents the performance media team
- Collaborates with Account Service teams to develop a well-rounded Media Brief inclusive of considerations around both traditional and digital strategy, objectives, KPIs, budget and measurement considerations.
- Sets the overall strategic direction for integrated media campaigns and determines performance metrics to drive business results across several clients.
- Coordinate with the paid social and paid search departments when determining the best media mix.
- Oversees and leads the writing and presentation of integrated media recommendations, annual media plans, and quarterly business reviews.
- Assists their team in building media flowcharts and the authorization of buys.
- Direct media research of markets to establish rate expectations, recommended daypart GRP goals, set CPPs using SQAD and RFP vendors, as needed.
- Leads their team through implementation, activation and performance measurement of media campaigns.
- Works with agency analytics teams to ensure proper tracking of digital and traditional media campaigns and how to identify key insights and performance.
- Responsible for pre-and-post launch QA and campaign optimization.
- Delivers reporting that uncovers actionable insights into campaign performance that illustrates how traditional and digital media are working to achieve results.
- Responsible for working with available platforms and partners for detailed audience research, audience insights and corresponding media recommendations against audience profiles and audience personas.
- Serves as the main point of contact for all media-related strategy, billing, process questions or issues.
- Stays abreast of media research and industry trends to provide thought leadership to internal (agency) and external (client) audiences.
- Dedicated to the personal growth and training/mentoring of their team.
What you bring:
- Background in performance media marketing (Search, Social, or Programmatic)
- At least 2+ years of mid-sized team management and cross-department collaboration
- Robust understanding of Ecommerce and DTC verticals
- 6+ years of agency experience specific to media planning and buying with deep knowledge of paid search, paid social and programmatic
- Demonstrate knowledge of traditional (TV, Radio, OOH and Print) and digital media strategy and the role that they play in an integrated media mix
- Understanding of Google Campaign Manager or other ad servers required
- Proficiency in Gmail, Drive and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Understanding of digital tracking concepts and digital media trafficking process is required
- Creativity in developing a holistic media plan and the critical thinking skills to provide rationale for media budgets and media mix
- Capable of seeing the “big picture” – not just by campaign but also by client
- Accountable for meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working cross functionally with Analytics, Search and Social teams on Media Mix Modeling and Multi-touch Attribution
- Knowledge of the NYC and Tri-State area media markets
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications preferred
