The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is looking for a new leader to join the team and support the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Joshua YMCA is a community with a vision to prepare youth to succeed and serve. We do this by encouraging good health, fostering family interactions, teaching teamwork through sports and shared activities. We are seeking a dynamic Associate Executive Director for our Joshua YMCA, south of the DFW Metroplex, to help build community relationships and grow membership. This facility is a collaboration with the City of Joshua and a community hub.

Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Associate Executive Director will be responsible for providing leadership to the Membership department. In addition, they will oversee daily operations, including volunteer development, financial development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, community relations, collaborations with community agencies, and budget.

Key Facts: Operating Budget: $600,000 Annual Campaign: $35,000, 500+ Membership Units, Youth Sports Program, Summer Day Camp, and Swim Lessons. Facility includes a Wellness Center, Group Exercise Studio, Cycle Studio, Childwatch, and an Outdoor Pool.

It is an expectation that the candidate live in the community that the Joshua YMCA serves. The City of Joshua is a small town approximately 25 miles south of Fort Worth, www.cityofjoshuatx.us, with a population just over 7,400. Joshua is located in Johnson County along Highway 174.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency. YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred, but can be obtained during employment. CPR and First Aid certification may be required.

Background & Experience: High energy, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful. The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring budgets, developing and marketing programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising. A proven track record in building authentic relationships with others and the ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations. This leader will need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.

Essential Functions
  • Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch membership growth and Association goals, and strategies. May direct branch marketing and communication efforts.
  • Represent and promotes the YMCA in local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
  • Works with diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure "For All" in our communities and staffing.
  • Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with the overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.
  • Provides staff support for assigned committees. Provides staff leadership for annual support campaign.
  • May ensure thee maintenance of facilities and properties of the branch assure to high standards of maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and to assure that the requirements of regulatory codes are fully met.
  • Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
