Job Summary

The Associate Director, Enterprise Events is primarily responsible for supporting the strategic development and execution of enterprise events. This includes supporting areas of event ideation and strategy, planning, promotion and implementation for a diverse portfolio of global events ranging in size, location and virtual spaces. The Associate Director, Enterprise Events will manage the strategic implementation while overseeing all facets of event execution including pre-event coordination, on-site and/or virtual event management, and any needed follow-up. Enterprise events are defined as events aimed at increasing brand visibility and showcasing the significant contributions of Chicago Booth across a variety of audiences, from the general population and prospective students to our alumni community, corporate partners and others within the Chicago Booth community.

Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy and Development - in partnership with the Director of Enterprise Events, develops and implements the overall vision and strategy behind the execution of enterprise events. Utilizes Chicago Booth’s core strategic priorities to apply the event strategy that meets the overall goals of each enterprise event.
  • Collaboration - works closely with various departments and teams across the school and University in order to effectively manage expectations related to event goals, timelines, communications, reporting and more. Leads collaborative discussions and gathers input from key stakeholders in order to successfully execute in person and/or virtual programming.
  • Brief Development - in partnership with the Director of Enterprise Events and Director of Brand Strategy, develops the event brief that serves as the ‘north star’ for all strategic and logistical elements for each event. The brief serves as a guide for the entire marketing and communications team and will clearly define the event goals, objectives, audiences, success metrics, communications narrative and channel strategies related to executing a successful program. In partnership with Marketing Operations and other marketing and communications team members, this role will be responsible for the daily execution and management of individual tactics included in the event brief.
  • Logistical Implementation - coordinates and manages all necessary event logistics including development of promotional materials, management of event registration, speaker/talent management, venue coordination, audio visual and/or technology management, oversight of on-site volunteers and vendors, and post event follow up. Daily review and approval of all program elements including communications, digital engagement, channel strategies, reporting and post event engagement.
  • Research and Data - reads, interprets and pulls key insights related to event data in order to track engagement and measure against key KPIs. Collaborates with the Institutional Research team, the Marketing Analytics team and Director of Digital Engagement to measure event performance, design and analyze research, and provides informed decision making to key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Event Aggregation & Collaboration - serves as the liaison and central contact for the organization with a general knowledge and understanding of all events executed throughout the school.
  • Reviews and finalizes the guest lists, assists with mailing invitations and creates complex brochures for the event.
  • Implements ideas for improvement as they are identified in addition to providing post-event feedback on turnout and vendor performance.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Experience:

  • A minimum five years of experience in events or conference planning.
