Job Description
As a valuable member of Fluor Greenville’s Central Engineering Group, you will have the opportunity to work in both the Advanced Technology & Life Sciences Business Unit and the Mining & Metals Business Unit. You will work on teams with proven capabilities and experience in the successful delivery of large, complex projects for clients for advanced manufacturing, micro-electronics, biopharma, mining & ore processing, and metals manufacturing and production facilities, both domestically and around the globe. Our Greenville teams are the Fluor Center of Excellence for both Advanced Manufacturing and Life Sciences and for Metals, Fertilizers and Lithium, and we are excited to be a key contributor to industries that are shaping the next wave of sustainable urban developments.
The purpose of this position is to apply a general understanding of design engineering principles as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position is performed under the oversight of the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and performs assigned aspects of engineering execution, applying basic engineering principles.
- Perform routine calculations and check calculations performed by others, specify simple equipment, and solve problems of simple engineering complexity
- Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
- Monitor material estimates and quantities; participate in equipment and material procurement activities
- Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Other duties as assigned

The salary range for this position is between $54,500 - $92,000. Notice to Candidates:

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and one (1) year of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Other Job Requirements
- Medium to strong skills in utilization and application of structural analysis and design software, such as RISA3D or similar software
- Strong and currently active in structural analysis and design skills for all various structural components and systems for steel structures and concrete building/equipment foundations and slabs
- Strong knowledge and utilization of IBC code
- Strong skills in wind and seismic analysis and design
- This position may temporarily allow the candidate to work remotely, with potential for full time remote work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training achievement status accomplished, with plans in place to gain full professional licensure
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
- Practical field experience
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
