UBC is looking for an Associate Director to lead our Sales Operations function. In this highly visible role, you will partner with Sales and cross-functional leaders to drive successful go-to-market execution and manage the processes and tools that support business development. The ideal candidate should have exceptional business acumen, analytical abilities, and people leadership skills. We are seeking an ops leader who can recognize opportunities to drive business growth, find areas of process improvement, and can lead a team to bring go-to-market ideas into fast market execution.


Specific job duties:

The Associate Director, Sales Operations & Strategy, will be responsible for all Sales Operations activities, inclusive of managing the processes and tools utilized by Business Development, as well as business intelligence.

Plan and execute the tactical elements of sales to develop best practices and manage sales processes, tools, methodologies, productivity metrics, quota planning, and performance management.

Act as the Product Owner and primary point of contact for LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, SalesLoft, Informa, and any other related sales tools and/or business processes.

Oversee UBC’s Salesforce Administrator, driving the implementation of new features and functionality, and ensuring the continued ability for Salesforce to generate actionable reporting.

Generate actionable business intelligence to drive prospecting and lead generation activities, driven through the sales infrastructure across business intelligence, proposals, underwriting, contracts and other teams.

Support Executive Leadership’s need to have a clear view on the performance and results of the sales and proposals organization. Generate reports and perform analytics to provide measurable insight into sales trends, forecasting, pipeline and performance.

Play a key role in collaboration with Executive Leadership and individual departments to attain common objectives and to support data-driven business strategy.

The Associate Director will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Business Officer.

  • Manage key internal processes and strategies that support accurate and proactive sales forecasting, pipeline management, sales trending/insights, and reporting.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement with a focus on improving quality and productivity through automation
  • Support the creation of the quarterly Board of Directors deck and monthly Sales Package
  • Product Owner of Salesforce, overseeing the Salesforce Administrator and responsible for implementing new features and functionality, issue identification and resolution, and maintaining control of access rights and security
  • Create and maintain the Sales Playbook to drive UBC’s focus for all sales prospecting and marketing efforts
  • Identify catalysts and products of interest and translate into actionable prospecting leads
  • Support sales and marketing campaigns through the generation of targeted account lists
  • Create ad-hoc reports for Sales and Executive Leadership to provide data on specific accounts, products, and development pipeline
  • Competitive analysis of market, market insight trending, collection of information the Executive Team must act on to inform business decisions

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience required
  • 7-9 years of experience in Business Development, Marketing, or Data Analytics, preferably in the Pharmaceutical/BioTech industry
  • Very strong Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, awareness of key functions, macros, what-if scenarios, etc.)
  • Very strong data visualization skills surrounding key data views. Savvy understanding of ‘what views make sense’ for the data that is being shared
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships and collaborate with multiple functional areas
  • Exceptional ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and significant time pressures
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in analyzing and synthesizing data to generate insight and make informed decisions
  • Strong business acumen with superior organizational and project/process management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and a history of successful cross-functional collaboration
