The Assistant Operations Manager assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the Tours department. This includes managing the daily experience of our guests, employees, vehicle fleet and facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision & Daily Operations Assistance, including conducting daily staff meetings, assisting with making 4-week schedule, resolving guest or staff issues, maintaining fleet of vehicles and communication with mechanics, and conducting tours as needed.
- Conducting new hire training, completing check tours to provide feedback and coaching to Tours staff and conducting new driver and CDL driver training.
- Serves as department safety officer. Reviews and tracks accident reports for guests and staff. Identifies safety improvement opportunities and attends monthly safety committee meeting.
- Leads various projects related to improvement of current tours or planning of new tour opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of working in a tour operation and the ability to understand and manage a fleet of 40+ vehicles to D.O.T. standard.
- Proven leadership skills along with excellent guest service abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Familiarity in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to supervise a diverse staff of 25-30+ employees and respond to emergency situations such as accidents/injury/illness, mechanical breakdowns, and coordinating for emergency personnel or response teams.
- Ability to problem solve and handle guest complaints.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform moderate physical labor.
- 3+ years valid driver’s license required with good record. CDL license is not required but is a plus.
- Open availability including weekends and holidays required.
