Conduct teaching and patient care activities in the CDM Community-Based Dental Education (CBDE) curriculum, as well as scholarly and service activities in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the College and University Individuals must possess these skills, abilities and knowledge or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or equivalent. Active California dental license or be qualified to obtain licensure or faculty special permit in California. Must have a valid Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of clinical practice experience. Experience in supervising students and/or residents providing patient care in an academic setting. Background in public health and community dentistry; comprehensive clinical experience spanning all ages (e.g. pediatric, geriatric, special health care needs); and experience in clinical practice and academics; and/or clinical research. Bi-lingual helpful Working Hours M-F 8am to 5pm with some evenings and weekends. Will be required to travel to School Based site currently located in Pomona and El Monte but subject to change. Conduct preclinical and clinical assignments according to the published schedule. Maintain intellectual integrity and strive for academic excellence. Promote adequate standards of linguistic expression in writing and speech. Maintain current records of the progress, including assessments, of each assigned student. Assist with the implementation of the continuum of the dental students’ clinical experience from the foundational skills in the didactic curriculum to patient-centered care that integrates basic and behavioral science, as appropriate. Academic Advising: Advise students regarding individual progress and provide resources for improvement as appropriate Research: Service: Election to or appointment to College and/or University committees should be considered a privilege and faculty members are encouraged to share in these responsibilities. Actively participate in appropriate professional societies and associations. Recognized knowledge and experience in a broad range of general dentistry diagnostic and treatment services.
