Nature of Work The Department of Community and Behavioral Health (CBH) at the Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor position, due to begin in Fall of 2021. The successful candidate will have a strong record of original research, evidence of effective teaching skills, and expertise in community-engaged research approaches. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program, teach graduate courses within our MPH/DrPH programs, advise graduate students and provide service to the Department, School, and University. Research and public health practice areas of particular interest include health disparities/health equity, mental health, and dissemination and implementation science. The Department of Community and Behavioral Health has over 60 primary faculty across the three campuses of the school, with expertise in behavioral science, community-based participatory research, population mental health, maternal and child health, mixed methods, dissemination and implementation science, among others. Examples of Work Performed Develop and obtain grants for extramural funding, resulting in a diverse funding portfolio from a mixture of federal, state, nonprofit organizations and foundations. Collaborate with others to develop, implement and evaluate research and/or public health practice projects. Contribute to the department and school wide efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. Develop manuscripts based on research findings, and publish in top tier peer-reviewed journals. Teach graduate public health courses and mentor/advise graduate students. Provide service to the Department, School and University by serving on committees and other activities. Supervision Received This position will be supervised by Jenn Leiferman, PhD, Professor & Chair of the Department of Community and Behavioral Health. Supervision Exercised The successful candidate may supervise other employees at time of hire, and may supervise additional student workers, professional research assistants, postdoctoral fellows and/or junior faculty as his/her career develops. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to be culturally responsive and exercising cultural humility while communicating appropriately and effectively with diverse audiences Ability to work both independently and as a part of teams Demonstrated commitment to promoting health equity and/or health justice. Does this position have fiscal responsibility? Yes. Fiscal responsibilities related to specific grant activities, as assigned. SALARY / BENEFITS: The Salary range for this position has been established at $95,000 to $200,000 and actual salary will be commensurate with rank, skills and experience.
