As the Assistant Production Supervisor, you will assist the Production Supervisor in the development and execution of your department’s plans in order to achieve overall business objectives. You will assist in ensuring that we manufacture high quality products, within a safe working environment, and meeting output expectations of customer needs and profitability targets. That’s year one. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time) Coordinate the organization of work within the department by attending daily performance meetings, review and make necessary adjustments based on daily department results, correspond with internal and external customers as needed, manage the departments Ensure accurate information within systems used in the management of the department (ERP and OEE software). Activities are focused on short term execution needs within the department. (40%) Provide training and development of employees within the department by maintaining presence on the production floor, conducting regular check in with employees within the assigned area. (30%) Maintain the flow of work through the assigned areas by ensuring daily plans are being effectively executed. Gain short term efficiencies by providing immediate guidance and direction the team. (15%) Assist in maintaining good employee relations by reviewing employee timecards on a regular basis, resolving issues in a timely manner and consistent with company policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement, escalating unresolved issues to the department Supervisor. (10%) Manage employee performance by leading and motivating employees using effective performance management techniques, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. WORK STATUS & LOCATION This is a full-time, exempt position located in Stockton, CA. RELOCATION Relocation is not available for this position.
